Kathy Roper

ARTIST STATEMENT: I have enjoyed creating handmade cards since I was a child, using paper embellished with fabric scraps, buttons, twigs, whatever I could find with an interesting texture. As an adult I discovered the versatility of rubber stamping and incorporated those techniques into card-making, scrapbooking and many other unique projects, first as a hobbyist and then as a Demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!

After attending college and earning a business management degree, I applied myself to 10 years in the industrial automation market. I loved seeing how manufacturers were organized to make their products!

Following that, I married and started a family while helping part time with our family engineering business – until our second son was born. Staying at home allowed me to further develop my creativity. I now enjoy teaching several classes each month. My approach is to enable even the most novice stamper to use the tools of the trade to create their own works of art, without necessarily having to buy them!

For a modest class fee you can come and explore the art of rubber stamping while making a stack of handmade cards, holiday gift tags, scrapbook pages, or even a unique purse or tote bag decorated with artwork you have made!

Recently I have begun supplying hand-stamped card inserts for DailyWindow, a company that makes handbags & totes made to display art forms & photos. Presently I am working to launch a new website to make stamped cards and unique gifts available on-line.
